The Process

Call Our Team

All it takes to get started is a phone call. When you reach out, we can learn about you and what you’re looking for in a treatment program to help you decide whether North Georgia Recovery Center will be a good fit.

This conversation is completely free and confidential, and only takes a few minutes.

Verify Your Insurance Benefits

If our program looks like a good fit, we’ll verify your insurance benefits next. This step is also free and confidential, and it gives you clear information about the cost of treatment before you decide to move forward.

We’ll ask for a few basic details, like your insurance provider’s name and your member ID. From there, we contact your provider directly to find out what’s covered, then call you back with a straightforward breakdown of the cost.

Schedule Your Arrival

Once you’re ready to begin, we’ll schedule your arrival date.

Our program runs Monday through Friday, with sessions from 9am to either 12pm or 3pm depending on your phase of treatment. We know that finding a start date often means working around a job, school, or family responsibilities first. Whether you want to visit us first thing in the morning or can’t arrive for a few days, we’ll work with your timeline.

Start Our Treatment Program

Your first day of treatment happens in person at our facility in Kennesaw. We’ll finalize your admission details and walk you through what to expect as you move through PHP, IOP, and alumni support.

When you arrive, we may conduct alcohol and drug screenings and evaluate any co-occurring conditions you’re experiencing.

What to Expect

Initial Assessment

Our admissions team will conduct an initial assessment for anyone considering our program. This conversation covers your history with substance use, your goals for treatment, and some basic financial information. It’s the foundation for the personalized treatment plan built for you by our clinical team, should you choose to start our program.

During your free consultation, we may ask questions like:

How long have you experienced addiction?
What substances are you struggling with?
What are your goals for recovery?
Have you been through other recovery programs? If so, what worked, and what didn’t?
Are there other mental health concerns you’d like to address during treatment?
Would you benefit from having your family involved in treatment?
Do you need a highly structured environment or something more flexible?
Are you familiar with our treatment program?

Packing List

Please bring all prescription medications you’re taking in their original containers, as well as personal identification (ID) and your insurance cards. Electronics are allowed outside of clinical groups.

Don’t worry about food or snacks; lunch is provided Monday through Friday at our Kennesaw facility.

FMLA

Many people worry that going to treatment means risking their job. In many cases, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) can protect your position while you get care.

FMLA allows eligible employees up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave for a serious health condition, and the Department of Labor recognizes substance use disorder treatment as one. FMLA protects leave taken for treatment, but it doesn’t protect absences caused by active use or override a lawful drug-free workplace policy.

If you’re considering FMLA, start the conversation with your employer as early as possible. FMLA rules can vary based on your employer and state, so it’s worth confirming the details with your HR department or an employment attorney. Our admissions team can also answer questions about how treatment fits around this process when you call to get started.

Facility

Our facility is located at 1690 Roberts Blvd NW, Suite 103, in Kennesaw, Georgia. We’re close to I-75, making our facility easy to find no matter where you’re coming from in the greater Atlanta area.
