As a veteran carrying combat trauma, I came in broken and hopeless. And as a seasoned healthcare operator with over 30 years of experience, I know a well-run operation when I see one. This is it. The leadership, clinical care, medical team, and housing are all done with excellence and compassion.

From day one, I lived at Serenity Over Suffering, where Brody (then Housing Director, now Executive Director) created a culture of accountability and brotherhood. At NGRC, my therapists Jennifer and Vanay (now Clinical Director) helped me face trauma and co-dependency I had buried for decades. Nurse Practitioner Breonna and Dr. Craig (Medical Director) provided outstanding medical care, while Kristen’s mindfulness groups taught me to slow down, breathe, and live in the present.

Today, I’m sober, rebuilding relationships, and even serving as a Group Facilitator at NGRC. The very program that saved me is now the place where I get to give back.
